This beautiful stretch of coastline is near the town of Cayucus. It was painted as a commission piece for a couple who live there and I had the great opportunity to create a plein-air sketch of the scene before starting the larger canvas. The flowers in the foreground are from their garden view. The pelicans fly majestically overhead on their way up and down the coast.
